Scott continued a strong finish to the
2004 season with a third place in the PASS sanctioned, non-points All Star Challenge 200
at Autodrome Montmagny in Quebec, Canada.
The #84 time-trialed eighth with a 16.965 versus a 16.637 posted by Canadian Alexandre
Gingras, a front runner at the Montmagny track.
Moving from the back in the Dash, Scott earned a sixth starting spot for the 200 lap
feature which would have a mid-point pit break for fuel and 2 tires. After best wishes from the Snow Goose Festival mascots on the
starting grid, the All Star Pro Stocks took the green for a fast and clean extra-length
race. Only one caution was thrown for a single car spin and outside wall hit on lap
26. As the race took shape, Scott worked his way up to third behind Cassius Clark
and Mike Rowe.
Alexandre Gingras moved into fourth.
On the restart after the mid break, the top four again fell into the same order and
proceeded to race nose to tail for the entire 100 green laps. As cars made passing
attempts, the give and take of the front four was evident. The top four finished in
formation but with the order still open to change during the last laps. A great
race! |
